The Optimist's Daughter Packaging

As part of an ongoing collaboration with the Tolleson Public Library, I developed an expanded visual system that extends the library’s brand into new community initiatives. The first, T-Lab, is a makerspace designed to introduce residents of all ages to creative technologies like 3D printing, Cricut cutting, and laser fabrication. The goal was to create a mark and badge system that felt inventive and hands-on while still aligning with the library’s approachable, community-centered personality. The resulting identity blends geometric precision with Southwestern warmth and a touch of playful craft, echoing the intersection of art and technology that defines the lab experience.

For the “Find Your Happy” Reading Challenge, I created a complementary campaign identity that breaks from the library’s core palette to establish its own joyful, seasonal energy. Using bright, contemporary color combinations and inclusive imagery, the design invites readers of all ages to rediscover the simple pleasure of reading. Together, these projects expand the Tolleson Public Library’s visual language—demonstrating how a civic brand can evolve with creativity, flexibility, and heart.
